That, or something better!

That, or something better than that, is often touted as a popular belief, in other words, when you ask for what you want, end with “That or Something Better”.

In more religious terms “Thy will, not mine be done”

But what if…. We were the Source, and the “will” of what we call God, and our will was the same.

That would change things a bit wouldn’t it? It would also mean that it’s not whether God says “Yes”, “No” or “Maybe but not yet, or something a bit different” to our requests, but more our attitude when we are making those requests.

So I think the lesson if you will here, is flexibility, and expectations.

I guess that means if we are so attached to having something show up looking EXACTLY like this or like that, we might miss something that would give us the essence of what we were looking for, which might be more readily available- or even better of course!

I think “not my will but thine” has been a bit distorted (to say the least) over the years, to mean something like “I am a lowly little worm who snivellingly begs for crumbs, but if I can’t have any that’s ok too, because I am not worthy”- hardly a helpful teaching, and hardly something you would want to put out to the “You-Ni-Verse” if it is mirroring us.

Think about that for a moment.

“Whatever Gods will is, I am not going to like it” - is another problematic belief I think as well, probably coming from our self sacrificing religious training.

So, according to the proponents of the self sacrificing mindset, we all put others first, we never consider what makes us happy or we desire, and we all expect everyone else to do that for us as well, so we can all be miserable together, and ALL live the lack of what we truly want. OH PLEASE.

Hardly the same as Joyful Giving is it?

Think about that as well,

Now think on this, Imagine you are a small child, excited about Christmas Day, you can see the presents under the tree, and you are looking forward to getting your favourite toy, you asked for it, and you expect it, you just KNOW it. Then as you open the presents, it is not there BUT one that is 10 times better, the one you DREAMED of, but didn’t really expect to get.

So you were expecting something good, but got something even better!

Now THAT’s the attitude I would recommend. Imagine taking that attitude through life, can you imagine how your life would be if you truly thought and believed that?

And what if the only thing holding you back was limiting beliefs, that you created as a defence mechanism, or someone who didn’t really know better (but thought they did), taught you.

And what if it could be cleared.

THAT please. Or something even better!
